Elián Zidán, a distinguished Mexican journalist, has garnered bi-national recognition and earned multiple Emmy and Telly awards and establishing himself as a prominent figure in the field. Currently, Zidán co-anchors the late edition of UNIVISION’s national newscast, Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna, airing Monday to Friday at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Before joining the national newscast team, Zidán anchored Noticias Univision 24/7 Primetime on TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform ViX. Prior to this role, he contributed as a reporter at Univision's local New York affiliate station, covering tri-state area events on the morning newscasts "Al Despertar" and "Ediciones Digital NY."

Zidán brings extensive experience in covering major news stories to the Noticias Univision team. Notable highlights include reporting on the 2017 earthquake in Mexico, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán's sentencing, and more. His impressive interview portfolio includes conversations with former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra. Most recently, Zidán interviewed Mexican Presidential Candidate Xóchitl Gálvez, traveled to El Salvador for an exclusive interview with former Guatemalan President Otto Pérez Molina, and played a key role in Noticias Univision’s Destino 2024 election coverage.

Born in Mexico City, Elián discovered his lifelong passion for storytelling and community service from an early age. At 16, he immigrated with his family to the United States, marking the beginning of his professional journey. A Cum Laude graduate from Seton Hall University in 2017, Elián earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcasting and Visual Media. His academic achievements reflect his dedication to excellence in the field.
