Joe St. George is deputy political director for Scripps News, breaking down politics and public policy for the national news network and Scripps’ 60+ local television stations across the country with morning show reports, political analysis and live appearances. 

St. George joined Scripps in 2020 and works with Scripps’ political reporters in local newsrooms. In 2024, he began moderating “The Race: Weekend,” a weekly public affairs program Scripps News produces in partnership with Politico.  

A multiple Emmy Award winner, St. George has reported from every swing state and nearly every crucial political county in the country. During his career, he has covered a papal visit, landmark opinions from the Supreme Court and conducted a presidential interview for Scripps News at the White House in 2020. 

Prior to joining Scripps, he was a political reporter and anchor at various television stations in Denver, Richmond, Virginia, and Davenport, Iowa. Before entering television, St. George held political jobs and internships on Capitol Hill, the White House and in British Parliament.
